School Leavers and Young People

At Consilium, we are always looking for enthusiastic school leavers considering a career in accountancy and finance. Studying at college or university might not be the right career path for you but that will not stop you from becoming an accountant.

Through the Career Ready programme, school leavers get the chance to work towards technical and professional accountancy qualifications. Like our Graduate recruitment, school leavers are able to learn and earn as they work.

Read on to learn more about working for Consilium, apply to join the Career Ready programme, or hear from team members who joined Consilium as a school leaver.

Modern apprenticeships in accountancy and finance

Joining Consilium as a school leaver is a great way to start your career, especially if college or university doesn’t appeal. Our training programme covers a wide range of accountancy skills and practices like bookkeeping, accounts preparation, VAT reporting and personal tax.

Students study towards qualifications through the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). Throughout they are supported, mentored and challenged by experienced members of our team. There are also opportunities to then go on to study for professional status through the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS).
